Acupuncture is a treatment that has been used dating back to ancient times. It has been widely used in traditional Chinese medicine for correcting imbalances in the flow of “qi” through the meridians of the body. In other words, it opens channels in the body that will allow it to perform and function better, ultimately helping you to achieve optimum health.  We now know that using these needles also helps to stimulate nerves, increase blood flow, and relieve tension.

What is Acupuncture? Acupuncture is performed on specific sites of the body with stainless steel needles that are thrown away after using them to prevent contamination. Much the same way phlebotomists discard the needle used on you after drawing blood, only acupuncture needles are much smaller than hypodermic needles used to draw blood. The skin is first sterilized to prevent any risk of infection, after which the needle is inserted into specific points.
