Frequently Asked Questions
Welcome to Idaho Center for Integrative Medicine in Boise. We know patients often have questions before getting started, especially when dealing with complex or long-standing health concerns. The answers below are meant to help you understand our services, pricing, scheduling, and what to expect as a new patient.
What services does your clinic offer?
Idaho Center for Integrative Medicine in Boise provides a range of integrative and functional medicine services designed to support patients dealing with complex or chronic health concerns. Depending on the situation, care may include functional medicine consultations, advanced lab review, nutrition and lifestyle guidance, regenerative medicine therapies such as PRP (platelet-rich plasma), shockwave therapy, peptide therapy, IV nutrient therapies, and hormone optimization. Our team has well over a century of clinical experience, and we have specialists in chiropractic, acupuncture, hormones, nutrition, laser detox, physical therapy, holistic skincare, integrative psychiatry, and much more…
Our goal is to evaluate the whole picture and help patients move toward better long-term health and function. We serve patients from Boise, Meridian, Eagle, and throughout the Treasure Valley who are looking for a more thorough and individualized approach.
What is functional medicine?
Functional medicine focuses on identifying and addressing underlying contributors to health concerns rather than only treating symptoms. Our clinicians take time to evaluate factors such as nutrition, metabolism, hormones, inflammation, environmental exposures, and lifestyle patterns.
This approach can be especially helpful for patients seeking deeper evaluation of chronic or complex health issues. We aim to understand why symptoms are happening, not just how to temporarily suppress them.
What is regenerative medicine?
Regenerative medicine therapies aim to support the body’s natural healing and recovery processes. At our Boise clinic, regenerative approaches may include treatments such as PRP therapy, shockwave therapy, peptides, autologous stem cell therapies, and other procedures designed to promote tissue repair and improve function.
These therapies are commonly used for musculoskeletal concerns, injury recovery, and chronic pain situations.
What conditions do you commonly work with?
Patients often visit our clinic for concerns such as fatigue, metabolic and hormone imbalances, digestive issues, chronic inflammation, autoimmune-related symptoms, chronic infections, and long-standing health concerns that have not responded well to conventional approaches.
We also work with patients seeking regenerative treatments for joint pain, injury recovery, and improved function. Because every patient’s situation is unique, the best way to determine whether our clinic may be a good fit is through an initial consultation.
Do you help patients with Lyme, MCAS, POTS, or other complex chronic illness?
Many patients seek our clinic when they are dealing with complex chronic health concerns and want an integrative perspective. Our clinicians evaluate medical history, lifestyle factors, previous testing, and the broader clinical picture to better understand each patient’s situation. We spend quality time trying to figure out the root cause of your symptoms, so you’re not guessing at protocols any longer.
Because these cases are often more involved, we believe in spending the time needed to provide careful and individualized care. Determining the best approach requires a consultation so we can review your case in detail.
Do you offer IV therapy?
Yes. Our clinic offers IV nutrient therapies designed to deliver vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients directly into the bloodstream. This includes ozone, hydrogen peroxide, Poly MVA, Vitamin C, trace minerals, B Vitamins, and much more. Because we have qualified medical and nursing staff on site, you get full therapeutic doses, not the weak and watered-down recipes found at many of the membership spa locations.
IV therapy may be used in certain situations to support hydration, energy, immune function, or recovery depending on the patient’s goals and clinical evaluation.
Do you offer peptide therapy?
Yes. Peptide therapy is one of the advanced therapeutic options available at our clinic. Peptides are short chains of amino acids that may be used in certain situations to support healing, metabolic function, tissue repair, or recovery.
Do you provide PRP treatments?
Yes. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy is a regenerative medicine treatment that uses components of your own blood to support healing and tissue repair. PRP is commonly used for joint concerns, tendon injuries, and other musculoskeletal conditions. We have the most clinically validated system, and we include ozone and peptides with each injection!
Do you provide shockwave therapy?
Yes. Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive regenerative treatment used to support healing in tissues such as tendons, ligaments, and muscles. It is often used for chronic pain conditions, sports injuries, and other musculoskeletal issues. Not only do we offer it, we have THREE different shockwave devices to best suit your needs.
Do you offer hormone therapy?
Hormone evaluation and optimization is one area of care offered at our clinic. Hormone imbalances can sometimes contribute to symptoms such as fatigue, sleep issues, metabolic concerns, or mood changes. Our prescribing practitioners can offer compounded bio-identical hormones in creams, pellets, injections, or pills.
Do you take insurance?
Our clinic is NOT in network with commercial insurance plans. Visits and services are self-pay at the time of service. Some patients choose to submit invoices to their insurance company if they have out-of-network benefits. To read more about why we’re not insurance based, please read THIS ARTICLE.
Do you accept Medicare or Medicaid?
Medicare, Medicaid, and VA plans generally do NOT reimburse services provided by our clinic. Furthermore, we can NOT write lab or imaging orders for Medicare patients. These plans are very strict about coverage, and since our services are not covered by Medicare, we are not in network.
Can I use my HSA or FSA?
Many Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) allow reimbursement for medical services. Patients should check with their plan administrator to confirm eligibility based on their individual plan.
What does a new patient visit cost?
Our standard new patient Functional Medicine visit is $295 for 60 minutes (99205). Chiropractic & Acupuncture visits are $150 for new patients. For patients with more complex or extensive histories who need additional time, we also offer an extended new patient visit at $350 for 90 minutes (99205 + 99417). Regenerative injection visits are billed based on the number of areas treated.
We believe many chronic and complex cases deserve more time and careful attention, especially when patients have extensive histories, prior lab work, or multiple overlapping concerns.
What do follow-up visits cost?
Standard Functional Medicine follow-up visits are $150 for 30 minutes (99214). Extended follow-up visits are $245 for 45–60 minutes (99215). Chiropractic/Acupuncture follow-up visits are $75 each.
