Platelet Rich Plasma - PRP

PRP injections, or platelet-rich plasma injections, are a very successful way to help speed the healing process in injuries. This includes ailments like nerve injuries, tendonitis, osteoarthritis, cardiac muscle injury, bone repair and regeneration, and sports injuries. In PRP therapy, your own blood is drawn and specially prepared to concentrate the platelets and is injected into the site of the injury. The point of this is to introduce higher numbers of platelets to the injury to increase healing, decrease pain, and improve the function of the injured area because platelets are essential to repairing body tissues. There may be some discomfort, but the risk of complications is low because we use your own blood. We put your own body to work for you without the use of medications. This is a great step in healing yourself!
